Roles and Responsibilities -
Develop Data Models - Design and implement effective data models that reflect the business processes, ensuring logical structuring and relationships of the data elements.
Data Integration - Oversee the integration process of new data sources into the existing data architecture, ensuring seamless data flow and minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Maintenance and Scalability - Regularly update the data models to accommodate changes in the business processes and scalability needs of the organization.
Collaboration with IT and Business Teams - Work closely with IT teams to implement models and with business stakeholders to ensure that the models align with business needs and practices.
Ensure Best Practices - Apply best GCP practices to data modeling processes, optimizing data retrieval and storage in BigQuery and managing data pipelines with Composer.
Quality Assurance - Monitor data quality, troubleshoot data-related issues, and ensure that the database reliably supports business applications.
Documentation - Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of the data architecture, including data dictionaries, models, and integration processes.
Designs and builds data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, processing, and storage using the frameworks and best practices.
Key Skill Sets -
Expertise in Data Modeling Tools - Proficiency in using advanced data modeling tools and software, especially those pertinent to GCP (e.g., BigQuery).
Good knowledge of Composer, Airflow and Python.
Knowledge of Retail Business Processes - Deep understanding of retail operations and analytics, ideally with experience in multi-store setups.
Strong Analytical Skills - Ability to analyze large datasets and translate business requirements into non-technical terms and vice versa.
Experience with GCP Services - Familiarity with GCP services, particularly BigQuery for data warehousing and Composer for workflow management.
Problem-Solving Skills - Excellent problem-solving abilities to address scalability and integration challenges.
Communication Skills - Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Attention to Detail - Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data models.
