Quality Engineer

Customer liaison for reporting and external failures, Internal liaison for quality problems to include problem solving and follow-up, continuous improvement activities (i.e., scrap reduction, downtime reduction, etc.). This job could also require extensive travel domestically and internationally.
Essential Job Functions
- Daily review and disposition of customer returns
- Problem solving/analysis of returns
- Monthly PPM reporting (customer/internal)
- Monthly MQC (Control Plan)/IS/FMEA audits
- Customer support (meetings, planning, documentation)
- Support operations (production of parts)
- Warranty parts analysis, when requested by the Warranty QE
- Service part (create inspection standard, resolve SQPR issues)
- Daily Kaizen reporting on plant floor
- Lead Daily Strike Team Meetings until issues are closed out
- Support QC Technicians in decision making
- Support Lab Technician
- Lead Scrap Reduction Team & improve top issues with Production Department
- Submit Continuous Improvement ideas
- Lead Internal / External Audits - IATF system knowledge
- Other items as directed by Quality Manager
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and one (1) or more year of experience in related field; an Associate’s degree in related discipline and three (3) or more years of experience in related field; or Non-Degreed with five (5) plus years’ experience in a related field.
- Experience working with Tier 1 OEMs and launching of new vehicle models is highly preferred.
- Experience with gauges and gauge makers.
- Certification may be required in some areas.
- Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
- Have strong communication, administrative and organizational skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills and group presentations skills
- Effective professional writing skills to create high-quality reports, presentations, and e-mails.
- Ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
