- Medical coding in an acute care setting; must possess proficient computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, ICD 9 CM, CPT 4, Encoder)
- Knowledge of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, federal billing guidelines
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology & disease processes
- Ability to research coding related issues
- Competence in coder training
- Must have CCS and knowledgeable with 3M/HIS coding application.
- Inpatient and ED experience.
Skills:
Three years’ experience and knowledge of ICD10
Education:
High School Diploma/GED
AHIMA, RHIA or RHIT and/or CPC, CCS – through AHIMA Credentialing authority, only
Shift:
Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
On-site for 2-3 weeks for training and acquiring the equipment, then remote with a need to report on-site for a meeting on a rare occasion. Must be in NY
