SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:


As Public Relations Manager, you will be the architect of impactful stories, crafting compelling press releases and engaging website content. Your mission is to capture the essence of the community's achievements and broadcast them to the world. You'll have the exciting task of liaising with local media, pitching groundbreaking stories, and shining a spotlight on the remarkable happenings within their walls.




Primary Focus:

  • Craft and disseminate news stories for our website and local media.
  • Collaborate with the President’s Office in orchestrating memorable on-campus events.
  • Champion the successes of our students and alumni in various media outlets.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and professional responses to information requests.
  • Stay ahead of higher education trends and understand their implications.
  • Utilize media monitoring tools to maintain and develop media lists.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or English
  • Must be open to a 4 day/week ON-SITE schedule to allow for maximum interaction with students and student activities
  • Proactive, upbeat, positive spirit with 2-3 years in public relations, especially in media relations.
  • A strong academic foundation in PR, Journalism, or Communications.
  • Experience in the Education sector or with Caribbean markets is a major plus.
  • Very strong writing/storytelling skills are a MUST
  • Flexibility to travel with the NYC metro area for events
