Senior Director, Community Content StrategyBigFuture brings together a trusted community to help every learner own their future. The BigFuture Community team is responsible for resources, content, and go-to-market efforts to reach and engage teens, parents and other caring adults, and K-12 educators. Our authentic, trusted content featuring experts demystify the college and career planning process. Our resources include BigFuture Scholarships ($23+ million to over 24K teens since 2019), the College Board National Recognition Program (280K students recognized for academic achievement in 2025); and BigFuture Ambassadors (community of thousands of high school students who share free college and career resources). The team coordinates cross-functional go-to-market efforts to reach and engage K-12, students and families.As Senior Director, Community Content Strategy, you will be responsible for the content ecosystem underlying BigFuture products, which engage over 15 million unique users a year. In partnership with the Product and Technology teams, you'll shape our content-as-product strategy to support personalized exploration on BigFuture.org. You'll lead editorial strategy for content served throughout our product, first in a searchable content library and eventually AI-enabled conversation and alongside tools. You and your team will rapidly create high volume, information-rich, authentic video and text content. You'll set and maintain a high bar for content as a player-coach managing staff.Roles and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Editorial Leadership of Content for Product (35%)Align community content with the BigFuture product vision and roadmap for personalized explorationOwn an editorial roadmap for multimedia content for the BigFuture.org product, informed by student and parent needs, business goals and landscape trendsOversee research and define objectives, messaging and approach for community content generationDefine ambitious quantitative goals for content, track KPI's, diagnose opportunities and gaps, and ensure robust tracking systems in partnership with Web AnalyticsManage user research and feedback systems to gauge needs, surface use cases and refine contentStrategically curate and serve content via a content management system to drive log-ins and other product engagement metricsProduction Systems and Quality of Content for Product (35%)Prioritize and manage community team's backlog of content concepts and editorial calendar to drive timely, consistent and rapid content creationEstablish and refine robust processes and systems to plan, create and review high-quality contentAs content lead, set staff expectations and screen all content for quality, accuracy and alignment with brand positioning, voice and style guidanceAs player-coach, regularly implement all aspects of content production, including research, planning, interviewing and partnering with production teams while simultaneously managing the community content teamManage vendor relationships and systems to ensure economical, efficient delivery of contentCross-functional Leadership and Team Management (30%)Surface content-as-product needs to Product and Tech teams and consult throughout discovery, design and implementation processesSurface go-to-market needs and outcomes and track cross-functional efforts to grow audiences, expand reach and strengthen the BigFuture brandIn partnership with Engagement and Reach Team, set direction and provide feedback to promote BigFuture content across multiple channelsAs manager of community content staff, own all aspects of team and people development (prioritization, expectations, evaluation, and attraction of new talent)Preferred Skills and Attributes7+ years managing content systems and creation in partnership with product teamsExcellent writer capable of rapid, high-volume generation of accurate, compelling contentExperience in content strategy and multimedia creation, including video, articles and graphicsExperience-driven intuition to engage Gen Z/Gen Alp ha in meaningful college/career exploration2+ years of experience as a people manager or as a project lead in matrix environmentStrong quantitative orientation to routinely diagnose, prioritize and assessStrong emotional intelligence to reach outcomes via cross-functional partnershipsExperience tracking and managing KPI's with Adobe Analytics, Tableau and other toolsStrong organizational and project management skillsExperience managing team workflows via Monday.com or similar toolsDeep experience leveraging Drupal or similar content management systemsStrong management instincts or experience to maintain a high bar for quality and efficiencyAll roles at College Board require: a passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work; authorization to work in the United States for any employer; curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt new AI-driven solutions and a comfort learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactively; clear and concise communication skills, written and verbal; a learners mindset and a commitment to growth: welcoming diverse perspectives, giving and receiving timely, respectful feedback, and continuously improving through iterative learning and user input; a drive for impact and excellence: solving complex problems, making data-informed decisions, prioritizing what matters most, and continuously improving through learning, user input, and external benchmarking; a collaborative and empathetic approach: working across differences, fostering trust, and contributing to a culture of shared success.Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Your exact salary will depend on your location, experience, and how your background compares to others in similar roles at College Board.
