Director of Sales Marketing

Position Overview:
As the Director of Sales and Marketing, you are responsible for leading the sales team at a hotel and ensuring that revenue targets are met. Your job is to increase occupancy and generate revenue by developing and implementing sales strategies that target specific markets such as corporate, leisure, or group. Your daily tasks may include analyzing market trends to understand customer needs, identifying new business opportunities, developing pricing strategies, coordinating sales activities with other departments, and managing the sales team.
Your success in this job depends on your ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members, your marketing skills, and your ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes. To qualify for this job, you must have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, and recent experience as a DOS in a full-service Marriott brand.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in CI-TY software (at least 2 years recent experience)
- 6+ years of direct hotel sales experience
- 4+ years as a hotel Director of Sales & Marketing
- 2+ years' experience as a Director of Sales & Marketing in a full-service Marriott brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the hotel's sales team and create sales goals to meet revenue targets.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow the hotel's customer base and increase revenue.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, including corporate clients, event planners, and travel agencies.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and service.
- Serve as the key liaison with Marriott Corporate Sales, maintain awareness and participation in all relevant brand initiatives, and ensure the maximization of the brand identity and relationship with key corporate personnel.
- Analyze market trends, identify new markets and opportunities, and create plans to capitalize on them.
- Create and maintain sales reports to track performance and progress toward goals.
- Attend industry conferences and events to network and gather information about the latest trends and strategies.
- Manage the hotel's pricing strategy and negotiate contracts with clients to ensure maximum profitability.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients and address their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
