The Pre-Op/PACU Manager is responsible for daily leadership and coordination of the preoperative and post-anesthesia care teams. This position ensures quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective resource utilization while mentoring staff and promoting the mission, vision, and values of our organization. Key Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team of nurses and support staff in the Pre-Op and PACU areas. Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow management. Ensure quality and safety standards are met, following the Nurse Practice Act, state regulations, and organizational policies. Monitor and improve patient outcomes through evidence-based practice and quality initiatives. Manage budgets, equipment, and supply inventories with cost-effective strategies. Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other departments to deliver seamless patient care. Serve as a role model in professionalism, ethics, and communication. Recruit, train, and retain nursing staff while promoting growth and continuing education. Participate in policy development, compliance audits, and performance improvement projects. Represent the department in interdisciplinary meetings and professional organizations. Encourage and support innovative approaches to improving patient care and team performance. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. Minimum 3 years of Pre-Op/PACU experience required. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. CAPA or CPAN certification preferred. Proven leadership experience with strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills. Solid understanding of nursing management, healthcare operations, and fiscal oversight. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes: Confident and empathetic leadership style that inspires trust and collaboration.
