We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Insurance Coverage Attorney to join our legal team. As an Insurance Coverage Attorney, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on matters related to insurance policies, coverage disputes, and claims resolution. Your expertise in insurance law and litigation will be essential in providing effective representation and guidance to our clients in navigating complex insurance coverage issues.


***Hybrid - 3 days in office 2 days Home ***


Responsibilities:

  1. Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis of insurance laws, regulations, and precedent cases relevant to coverage disputes and insurance claims. Stay abreast of emerging legal developments and trends in insurance coverage litigation.
  2. Policy Review and Interpretation: Review insurance policies, contracts, and coverage documents to assess coverage provisions, exclusions, and limitations. Provide guidance to clients on policy interpretation and the scope of insurance coverage for various types of risks and liabilities.
  3. Coverage Opinions and Advice: Provide legal opinions and advice to clients regarding insurance coverage issues, including coverage determinations, duty to defend, indemnification obligations, and reservation of rights letters. Assess potential coverage gaps and advise clients on risk management strategies.
  4. Claim Investigation and Resolution: Assist clients in evaluating insurance claims and assessing coverage eligibility. Advise on claim submission procedures, documentation requirements, and negotiation strategies to maximize insurance recovery and minimize disputes.
  5. Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in insurance coverage litigation and dispute resolution proceedings, including arbitration, mediation, and litigation in state and federal courts. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents, and conduct oral arguments as needed.
  6. Client Counseling and Advocacy: Provide strategic guidance and advocacy to clients throughout the insurance claims process, from initial claim submission to resolution. Advocate on behalf of clients' interests in negotiations with insurers and other parties involved in coverage disputes.
  7. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and exposures arising from insurance coverage issues and advise clients on risk mitigation strategies. Develop proactive measures to protect clients' interests and minimize legal liabilities associated with insurance coverage disputes.
  8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable insurance laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing insurance coverage and claims handling practices. Advise clients on compliance requirements and best practices for maintaining insurance coverage and managing risk.
