For prospective team members who possess values, are passionate about what they do and want to truly make a difference, joining our company can be a life-changing opportunity.SMP is looking for a Sr. MES Engineer, the candidate will be responsible to provide MES support for manufacturing operations that run on the shop floor, project coordination and MES team member project assignments.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMES System monitoring, troubleshooting, problem resolution and implementationMES Programming make changes to or create required steps or logic within the MES programsMES support - configuration of printers, scanners (PPC), PBL controllers and carts, part labels, MESConfigure and troubleshoot barcode scannersBasic level network troubleshootingTrack and control MES devices and their configurationsAs an IT support should be able to troubleshoot other systems that are integrated with MES (such as JIS sequence system, Paintshop system, SAP, AIB, HMI etc.)Take new MES requirements / changes from operations team:Translate it into technical specificationsCreating work instructionsSQL database maintenance and functionalityMaking required changes to MES programReview and test the change with production team and 3rd party supportPlan for rolloutWrite Work instructions and train operations teamThis position will function as the dedicated Sub-Project Manager working with the PM team to plan and coordinate for all projects.MES Team coordination Assign projects to MES Engineers, support the MES Engineers for projects from Assignment to Implementation.Communicate with IT Manager regularly regarding status of requested, active and upcoming MES projectsAvailability Flexible schedule and sense of urgency to support escalations that affect business operations and client servicesAvailable after hours and weekends as needed and willing to work on-call rotationAdditional RequirementsPresent strong interpersonal and communication skills; business operations facingAbility to prioritize work in a multi-tasking and fast paced environmentAttention to details and completeness of work (e.g. documentation) will be expectedMust be a team player with a high degree of self-motivationAbility to learn and apply technical information and are motivated to growAuthorized to work in the United StatesThis position may require some local, national, and occasional international travelKepware software programming (nice to have but not required)Basic understanding of PLC communicationKnowledge of Raspberry Pi hardware/configuration a plusEducation & Experience Requirements:Bachelors degree or equivalent7+ years of experience as MES EngineerWorking knowledge of technologies such as Microsoft Excel and Database (MSSQL)Strong ability to diagnose alerts, events or issuesExperience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with C# & Angular (nice to have but not required)
