Role Description

The NJRHA is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team during an exciting period of transformation and growth. As the cornerstone of New Jersey's economy, our industry is responsible for creating nearly 200,000 jobs and making it one of the largest employers in the state. We represent more than 20,000 food establishments, more than 1,000 hotels together generating billions in revenue, This is a pivotal time marked by evolving consumer behaviors, rapid advancements in technology, the flourishing of culinary arts, and innovative operating models that are redefining how we serve our customers.

We are looking for an accomplished executive who is passionate about the restaurant and hospitality industry, ready to lead with purpose, and eager to make a lasting impact on a workforce that is vital to New Jersey's economic and cultural fabric. This is a full-time on-site role for a President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at NJRHA Association in Trenton, NJ. The CEO will be responsible for leading the organization's daily operations, strategic planning, business and partnership development, membership growth and activities, financial management and success in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

The role reports to the Board of Directors and partners with other similar organizations at the local, state and national level. This position also acts as a leading voice across the state representing the interests of our members to the media, elected officials, business owners of all sizes and other industries. In this role, you will spend a lot of time traveling border to border in our state, working with members, understanding their needs and representing the association.

Primary Qualifications Include:

• Previous or current experience in an executive leadership role
• Experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry is required
• Ability to travel regularly across the state is required
• Prefer a bachelor’s degree and other advanced related education, but will consider a wide variety of backgrounds for someone with the right passion, talent and experience
• Personal qualities most sought: resilience, humility, strategic vision, emotional intelligence, interpersonal sensitivity and joyfulness
• Passion for our industry and service to members
• Proven ability in an executive role to lead and influence in a variety of settings
• Successful results in an association or other nonprofit and member-driven organization
• Skilled financial and operational management skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to act as a media spokesperson for our industry
• Experience reporting to a board of directors
