Candidates must have 515 years of experience and a U.S. undergraduate degree (or equivalent field experience). They are known for high standards in safety, execution, and teamwork, and for building long-term careers for field leaders who want to stay close to the work.Job DescriptionServe as Superintendent on heavy highway and bridge construction projectsLead daily field operations in collaboration with Project Managers and ForemenCoordinate crews, subcontractors, and site logistics to maintain schedule and qualityManage material deliveries and ensure all certifications meet contract requirementsMaintain accurate daily documentation including reports, schedules, and photosOversee and balance concrete pours and critical path activitiesInterface with inspectors, owners, and public agencies as neededSupport project closeout, final quantities, and job cost reportingWork outdoors year-round with occasional second-shift work during phase changesQualifications5+ years of experience on IDOT or Illinois Tollway heavy highway projectsPrior experience as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Assistant PM, PM, or Superintendent on heavy civil workBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a U.S. university, or equivalent heavy highway experienceOSHA 10 or 30 preferredStrong understanding of plans, specs, means and methodsProficiency in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of BluebeamComfortable leading crews and operating in fast-paced jobsite environmentsWhy You'll Love Working HereField-driven culture that respects builders and decision-makers on-siteStable pipeline of public infrastructure work (not feast-or-famine)Leadership that trusts experienced Superintendents to run their jobsTangible impact you'll see your work shaping real infrastructure every dayJob Type: Full-timeDental insuranceFlexible schedulePaid time offRetirement planVision insurance
