Tax Credit Advisory Investment Banking Vice PresidentLocation: Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Houston, or RemoteAbout the RoleThe Tax Credit Advisory group at Marathon Capital is hiring a Vice President. The candidate will be a core member of the group and will have a wide array of analytical, financial modeling, and materials preparation responsibilities in support of the pitching and execution of tax credit related investment banking mandates. This position represents a unique opportunity to join a successful growing platform and get experience across all technologies within the energy transition sector that are incentivized by tax credits.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the day-to-day aspects of solar, energy storage, carbon capture, wind, and other tax credit advisory mandate origination and execution, including building financial models, authoring offering materials, preparing pitches, conducting industry research, and conducting marketing processesSupport all types of Marathon Capital investment banking mandates on financial modeling and tax credit monetization structuresSupport internal technical training initiativesBuild sector expertise in renewable and conventional power generation, power and utilities, energy technology, and infrastructureDrive business development initiatives to further enhance the firm's competitive positionSkills & QualificationsBachelors degree required; finance or accounting degree preferredBackground in renewable energy, including 4+ years of experience structuring, modeling, and/or executing tax equity financing, tax credit transfer, or project finance transactionsConfident in financial modeling skills, including ability to model U.S. partnership tax concepts and advanced Microsoft Excel skillsKnowledge of or interest in energy transition, including renewable power generation, energy storage, power and utilities, carbon capture, and energy infrastructure sectorsEqual Employment OpportunityEmployment decisions at the Company are made without unlawful regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, ancestry, alienage or citizenship status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions, military or veteran status (including unfavorable discharge from military service), marital status, conviction record, sexual and reproductive health decisions, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law.
