Position: Supervisor, Fulfillment Services
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Classification: Full Time, Exempt
Reports To: Manager, Fulfillment Services
Purpose:
The Supervisor, Fulfillment Services manages drug distribution and related activities for a variety of patients and customers enrolled at PANTHERx™ Rare Pharmacy and PANTHER Wholesale. This role leads a team of in-house pharmacists and technicians performing pharmacy services including dispensing of medications, quality assurance and clinical monitoring activities. Ensures pharmacist team workflow needs are met, by continually monitoring the workload across the queues and addressing any necessary modifications. Responsible for processing reports, assists with development or revisions to clinical programs pertaining to fulfillment, and distributes of key information to the pharmacist team. This position supervises and maintains departmental and organizational standards and measures; plans and implements workflows to prioritize competing and interdependent tasks to meet deadlines and manage time effectively. The supervisor mentors newly hired staff, train existing staff, and will address escalated patient, prescriber, or PANTHERx leadership concerns.
Responsibilities:
• Leads in the development and execution of quality and production standards in the fulfillment area.
• Leads pharmacy staff to assure effective and efficient dispensing of medications.
• Analyzes workflow and distributes daily responsibilities to ensure all prescriptions are processed and dispensed correctly and timely.
• Evaluates daily quality assurance metrics and reports and adjusts workloads as necessary.
• Creates and conducts staff training for new processes/process changes.
• Participates in regular meetings with leadership to discuss staff needs and accomplishments.
• Conducts regular team meetings.
• Creates and maintains competency checks for team members.
• Develops measurable and attainable yearly goals for fulfillment team.
• Communicates with Inventory team about sufficient inventory quantities regarding medication delivery.
• Fulfills prescriptions including, but not limited to product receipt, lot tracking, and shipper coordination.
• Maintains staff coverage by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Provides oversight to day-to-day operations of the team.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Empowers employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals; delegates responsibility expecting accountability and regular feedback.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by consistent enforcement of polices, documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, continuing needs, and process improvement.
• Leads with integrity by taking accountability to meet deadlines.
• Communicates and implements all approved changes.
• Observes and complies with all policies and procedures.
• Ensures self & direct reports complete mandatory training requirements.
• Assists in the receipt and control of products for wholesale services.
• Responsible for the recall process for pharmacy and wholesale services.
• Responsible for training of fulfillment team of wholesale process.
• Additional projects and activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Doctor of Pharmacy or Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure for the state of Pennsylvania.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 years as a practicing, licensed pharmacist in a specialty pharmacy.
• 2 years of experience in a leadership role, managing team members.
• Possess strong leadership skills and be interested in growth and development.
• Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure for the state of Ohio.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a well-lit, mail order distribution pharmacy environment. Role routinely uses pharmaceutical equipment and safety supplies.
Physical Demands:
Individual must be able to stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 20 pounds; and utilize the computer and bar code scanner. Must be able to use proper personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, gloves, eye protection and face masks when needed.
