This part-time Occupational Therapist position supports K-12 students aged 5 to 26 with autism, emotional impairments, or cognitive impairments in a school setting located in Okemos, MI. The role focuses on delivering specialized therapeutic interventions tailored to the developmental and educational needs of diverse learners throughout the academic year on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals. Implement therapeutic interventions to improve students sensory processing, fine motor skills, and daily living activities. Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment. Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed, documenting outcomes in compliance with school policies. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to provide clinical insights and recommendations. Qualifications: Current Occupational Therapist license or certification appropriate for school-based practice. Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disturbances, and cognitive impairments. Knowledge of K-12 educational environments and special education regulations. Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and family members. Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the unique needs of each student.
