Our team designs, develops, and maintains massively scaling technology solutions brought to life with innovative architectures, data analytics, and digital solutions.As a Sr. Manager Strategy & Advanced Analytics, you will partner with Crew (Flight Attendants & Pilots) and Catering teams OR Airport Ops, Network Ops, and Tech Ops teams to define and execute advanced analytics initiatives that drive incremental revenue, improve efficiency and/or customer satisfaction including big data, machine learning models, statistical models, optimization models, etc. Will be responsible for identifying and analyzing opportunities as well as managing the execution and delivery of projects. Will be working with and managing internal and external partner teams both in the US and off-shore. This role will require strategic thinking and strong client focus. Will lead a team and be responsible for providing coaching, mentoring and development.Manage the development and implementation of projects that apply industrial engineering, operations research, statistical and machine learning techniques and involve team members across all data analytics areas, vendors and external partners to solve critical business problems. Activities involve leveraging big data and the development of mathematical models and analytical tools to provide decision making support or complex technical functions such as employee and aircraft scheduling, manpower planning, inventory management, supply chain management and real time asset deployment.Engage with partner organizations and other stakeholders to identify business value, drive consensus around project scope, value, delivery timelines, and follow-on work, if any. Responsible for managing the work of a team of a few individuals who design and/or implement mathematical models with an orientation to locating opportunity and delivering value. Train, develop, and mentor analysts across the analytics team. Responsible for assuring a high level of technical skills and knowledge within the team for one or more of: optimization modeling tools (such as CPLEX, OPL etc.), or statistical modeling tools (such as SAS, R, etc.), or knowledge of ML/AI toolkits and associated programming (such as Python etc.), or BI tools (such as Spotfire, Tableau, etc.). Liaise with Digital Technology to partner on technology solutions as applicable. Partner with partner teams to identify initiatives and develop advanced analytic solutions. Be a thought partner to partner teams creating a competitive advantage through analytics. Be accountable for deliverables by understanding and balancing the competing demands for project scope, time and quality. Lead status meetings and manage frequent communication to key stakeholders including communication and presentations with emphasis on visualization skills, quality and timeliness. Perform ad-hoc analyses as needed.What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):Bachelor's degreeBS in operations research, statistics, engineering, ops research, analytics or a related quantitative field7+ years of relevant experienceAt least one year of project lead experience requiredProject management experience requiredAt least one year in a supervisory role preferredStrong passion to solve business problems with dataProficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExperienced in analyzing complex, high volume, high dimensionality data from various sources to identify patterns and relationshipsAbility to multi-task and prioritize activities quickly and effectivelyAbility to proactively manage stakeholder expectations on current and future business needsSelf-motivated If you don't know the answer, you'll reach out and find somebody who doesExcellent skills in verbal/written communication, presentations, and project planningStrong analytical ability, applies analytical and pro-active thinking to client agenda to ensure robust, appropriate, value-add client solutionsAble to adapt to changing business environmentAble to influence business strategy and act as a thought partner and the ability to maintain/develop a pipeline of potential engagementsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Master's degreeAdvanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent) in a related quantitative field5+ years of experience at successive levels of quantitative and analytical fields e.g. IE, OR, Statistics, ML/AI, financial modeling etc. preferred3+ years of airline business experience preferredKnowledge/familiarity of using and/or driving work on Big Data ecosystems and database querying languages (one or more of SQL, Python, etc.) preferredKnowledge and/or experience of one or more of: optimization modeling, or statistical modeling, or ML/AI preferredExperienced in using visualization tools such as Tableau Spotfire experience preferredThe base pay range for this role is $137,275.00 to $178,670.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
