Preconstruction Manager – Concrete Division
We have an immediate need for a Preconstruction Manager in our Concrete Division to oversee our concrete, masonry, and asphalt sealing and striping projects. This position will be based out of our Marietta office location.
The ideal candidate will have extensive field experience and a proven track record of successfully managing similar projects. This role requires excellent planning, scheduling, and management skills to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What You’ll Do:
- Responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while overseeing the pre-construction phase of our projects.
- Prioritizing RFPs and open bid opportunities and collaborating with Construction Directors to present competitive information and estimates to clients.
- The role is expected to grow revenue in the Marietta office and support the growth strategy of our expansion into new markets. The ideal candidate is tenacious, a team player, entrepreneurial, and thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in the commercial construction sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Lead the preparation and submission of competitive proposals and bids.
- Oversee the preconstruction phase of projects, ensuring accurate and comprehensive RFPs, cost estimates, schedules, and project plans.
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure a seamless transition from pre-construction to construction.
- Analyze project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize project costs while maintaining quality.
- Create measurable goals for the team pertaining to pipeline, backlog, win rate, margin, bid quality, etc.
- Lead and grow a high-performing team, providing mentorship and guidance
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages continuous learning and growth.
- Set clear goals and performance expectations for direct reports and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies.
- Develop and implement market penetration strategies to expand our client base and diversify project types.
- Monitor and analyze the competition to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.

What You Bring:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in construction management leading concrete, asphalt sealing, striping and masonry construction projects.
- Business administration, or a related field applicants with some experience doing the above are also welcomed.
- Strong understanding of preconstruction processes, cost estimating, and project management (not required, highly desired).
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
- Tenacious, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead in a matrixed organization.
