We are seeking an energetic, creative physical therapist to join our dynamic interdisciplinary team. Our clinic combines evidence-based practice with the latest neurorehabilitation technologies. We serve patients with a variety of neurologic and vestibular diagnoses, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, concussion, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, and vestibular hypofunction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate patients of all functional levels. Experience in neurologic and vestibular rehab is preferred, but mentorship and training will be provided to the right candidate possessing a strong interest in these areas.

Population by diagnosis:

· Stroke

· Parkinson’s Disease (requires LSVT BIG and PWR Certifications)

· Vestibular (unilateral and bilateral vestibular hypofunction, PPPD/ visual motion sensitivity, concussion, BPPV)

· Traumatic Brain Injury

· Multiple Sclerosis

· Spinal Cord Injury

· Peripheral neuropathy

· Falls due to medical complexity/ cognitive impairment

· Cerebral Palsy

· Brain tumor

· Amputation

· Guillain-Barre Syndrome

· Intellectual Disabilities

· Dementia

Requirements:

· Frequent transfers/ balance/ gait training (at times with technology)

· Ability to regularly remediate environment due to patient fluctuating cognitive abilities, anxiety, or agitation

· Sustained work in standing, kneeling, quadruped, on floor, negotiating obstacle courses, and assisting gait from a stool, etc.

· Ability to conduct and interpret a variety of diagnostic tests (full oculomotor exam, cranial nerve testing, coordination, sensory exam, upper vs. lower motor neuron signs, etc.) in order to r/o CNS or PNS dysfunction in the setting of vestibular or non-specific referral

· Skilled in training paradigms for a wide range of neuro deficits (e.g. dual and multitask training to address executive dysfunction, high intensity locomotor training programs in hemi and paraplegia)

· Skilled with neuro handling skills and facilitation in all developmental positions.

· Familiarity with NEURO EDGE recommended outcome measures per diagnosis including cutoffs, MCID’s, etc.

· Appropriate selection of assistive devices and positioning aides

Under the direction of the Team or Clinic Manager, the Physical Therapist administers physical therapy in accordance with state law regarding the practice of physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The Physical Therapist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by his/her department – pediatric through geriatric. The Physical Therapist must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span; possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs; and to provide the care needed as described in the Outpatient and Physical Therapy policies and procedures.

Type of supervision exercised: functional supervision of PTA's and support personnel during clinical activities. Jobs reporting to this position: PTA's and Aides.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from a school of Physical Therapy approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association required.

Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from a school of Physical Therapy approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association preferred.

Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from a school of Physical Therapy approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

New graduates acceptable.

One (1) to two (2) years physical therapy experience preferred.

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Licensed (temporary or permanent) as a Physical Therapist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Permanent licensure must be completed within a time period deemed appropriate and reasonable according to examination schedules and state requirement.

Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check and PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse Central Register (Childline), PA Department of Human Services and PA Department of Aging (if applicable).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with management, staff, patients, and visitors.

Valid PA driver's license required for travel.

CPR certification is required and must be maintained.
