Senior DevOps Engineer (Only on W2) Walnut Creek, CA OR Reno, NV FTE OnlyPOSITION SUMMARY We're seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead key initiatives within our rapidly growing engineering organization. The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and the broader Microsoft technology stack, and a strong track record in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, supporting Agile development workflows, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure. This role will also drive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, ensuring system reliability, performance, and operational excellence across all environments. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Define, implement, and document operational processes and procedures, with a focus on enhancing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. Conduct periodic reviews for efficiency and provide feedback to the development team for continuous improvement. Lead the architecture and implementation of scalable cloud solutions and microservices, ensuring robust and resilient infrastructure on Azure. Maintain a suite of DevOps best practices and tools, with a strong emphasis on continuous integration and continuous delivery. Drive the creation of modular CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes. Ensure deep observability into cloud-native applications, leveraging tools like Dynatrace for advanced diagnostics and performance monitoring. Automate application configuration and lifecycle management to ensure high availability and reliability in a 24/7 production environment. Measurement, optimization, and tuning of system performance and ensuring that systems will run reliably and are highly available in a 24/7 production environment. Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, customers, and IT to design and evolve business solutions that align with operational excellence and innovation. POSITION REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate will be a technically proficient, highly motivated, and self-directed individual with extensive knowledge of CI/CD software development and DevOps practices. Additional qualifications include: DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience 10+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps/Automation/Build or general software engineering role Experience with design and implementation of high transactional, scalable cloud platforms using Azure infrastructure. Experience with design and implementation of modular CI/CD solutions for cloud applications, with a strong emphasis on Azure DevOps. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or similar. Experience with Dynatrace monitoring for cloud-native applications. Experience with scripting skills including Python, Bash, and PowerShell. Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Docker Swarm for deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications. Experience with SCM, SVN, GIT, VS, HTML, SQL, and Object-Oriented programming. Exceptional analytical skills and diagnostic methods. Experience developing and maintaining test automation systems and best practices. Understanding security and compliance best practices. Self-driven desire to continuously learn new technologies and skills. Ability to absorb and retain information quickly. Strong attention to detail. The salary range provided for this contract role represents our good faith estimate for this position. Within the range, individual offers will vary based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, location and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process (W2 or C2C).
