Are you an experienced commercial architect with a passion for commercial projects? We’re seeking a Senior Commercial Architect Project Manager to join an employee-owned firm in Southwest Virginia. This role is perfect for a seasoned professional with at least 12 years of commercial architectural experience, including 2-3 years in project management. We’re also open to candidates with 10 years of experience, provided they bring strong project management skills.
About the Role:
As a Senior Commercial Architect PM, you’ll lead the planning, design, and execution of complex commercial architectural projects. You’ll work closely with clients, coordinate with contractors, and ensure that each project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Your expertise will be crucial in driving our projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet both client expectations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead client consultations to determine project scope and objectives.
- Conduct site visits and manage the preparation of as-builts and record drawings.
- Integrate engineering elements into cohesive architectural designs.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Administer construction contracts and perform on-site observations to ensure compliance.
- Manage project proposals, work plans, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Provide technical guidance and resolve project challenges.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth project execution.
- Promote site safety and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Valid Virginia architectural license or ability to apply for one
- Minimum of 12 years of commercial architectural experience, with at least 2-3 years in project management (consideration for candidates with 10 years of experience and significant project management expertise).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
