Our programs rely on well-maintained spaces that are safe, clean, and functional-allowing our staff to focus on supporting the needs of our community.As a Maintenance Worker, you'll play a hands-on role in maintaining our shelter and administrative facilities, vehicles, and equipment. Your work will help ensure our programs run smoothly and that clients and staff feel welcome and supported in their environments.Key responsibilities include:Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in bathrooms, kitchens, offices, hallways, and common areas.Replenish supplies and remove trash regularly.Vacuum, sweep, mop, strip, and wax floors as needed.Clean storage areas and perform occasional window, wall, and vent cleaning.Perform minor repairs in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing systems.Paint, change light bulbs, and maintain interior/exterior fixtures.Conduct seasonal outdoor work (snow shoveling, mowing, litter pickup).Assist with vehicle upkeep and documentation.Drive agency vehicles for supply runs or scheduled maintenance.Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.Schedule and perform routine system inspections and repairs.Collaborate with the Facilities Manager on major repair needs or cost-saving recommendations.Maintain logs and inspection records as needed.Grease trap and sump pump maintenance (in conjunction with contracts).Support with agency events and supply management.Participate in safety trainings, staff development sessions, and organizational meetings.Respond to on-call maintenance needs when necessary.What We're Looking For: You're a dependable and detail-oriented individual who takes pride in keeping spaces clean, organized, and in working order.
