The Dean of Students will lead Girls Global Academy's discipline team and PBIS process. The Dean of Students will consistently demonstrate service, leadership, integrity, collaboration, and empathy, and promote those core qualities in the students.Member of the Leadership Team: The DoS is a team builder and experienced manager you will collaborate with the whole school community. You are open and direct about fulfilling the needs of all stakeholders and a high level of student engagement. You need to be able to communicate clearly with students and staff. You will also be expected to develop the culture of the school and collaborate with other leaders to ensure there is consistent implementation you will be one of the glue holders between the executive team, students, and parents/staff and a key part of the decision making for the school.QualificationsBachelor's Degree required and Graduate Degree RequiredAdministrator I Certificate preferredBackground on conflict management preferred2+ years educational leadership experienceManagerial experience preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsMake data-driven decisionsExperience organizing professional developmentExperience providing instructional supportExperience designing and implementing educational programsDemonstrated ability to perform the duties of the positionKey ResponsibilitiesDean of Students Duties and ResponsibilitiesBehavior and DisciplineDevelops, supervises, manages, and maintains student in-school cultureDevelops the school's initiative for the use of restorative practices in collaboration with the Student Support Services CoordinatorProvides staff development around restorative practices in collaboration with external partners and the PrincipalConduct and supervise restorative circlesManages the PBIS process with other members of the leadership teamCommunity EngagementFosters positive relationships with studentsDevelops regular communication protocols with parentsDelivers thoughtful guidance and support with advisory groupsEngages professionally and enthusiastically with new school initiativesLead extra-curricular activities during and/or after schoolAbout Our SchoolGirls Global Academy (GGA) is an all-girls public charter high school in Washington, DC.
