Proposal Specialist

A leading engineering and construction firm with a long history of executing customized design/build projects for industrial facilities including new design and construction of manufacturing plants and facilities, and rehabilitation of existing plants/facilities and other high-hazard environments is seeking a Proposal Specialist/Manager with strong writing skills for our busy Tewksbury, MA office.

Job Description

• Working with our key account leads to understand the drivers of our clients and how to successfully sell our services to them.
• Reading and understanding RFQs and RFPs to make sure we are responding to all requirement
• Prepare outlines from RFPs and draft content for compelling bid submissions.
• Work with senior management to assign tasks to subject-matter contributors.
• Work with our subject-matter professionals (engineers, architects and project managers) to gather content for proposal response.
• Reviewing, editing, and writing our technical and marketing proposal content so it’s compelling, current, complete, and correct.
• Working with our Marketing/BD team to create branded proposal graphics, such as covers, dividers, organization charts, flow charts, schedules, and more.
• Apply writing and communication skills to other functions of the business including blog and social media posts and website updates.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working in an architectural, engineering and/or construction firm.
• 5+ years of experience in professional proposal writing.
• Motivated to take initiative, work independently, and manage a complex proposal process.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills that communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
• Comfortable engaging staff across our business who may be supporting our proposals, as well as external teaming partners.
• Passion for working with diverse teams.
• Naturally thorough, detail-oriented, and organized.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Analytical and critical-thinking skills and an ability to understand and verify compliance with proposal process and requirements.
• Proficient/advanced formatting skills with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
