Description: The position requires providing high-quality patient care in the Cath Lab. The role includes diagnostic and interventional procedures related to cardiac issues. Experience with performing adult diagnostic catheterizations is required. Skills required include left heart catheterization, right heart catheterization, and IABP placement and removal. Candidates must be able to interpret dysrhythmias and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias. The position involves scrub procedures and maintenance of a sterile field. Room circulation responsibilities are also part of the role. Call is required: approximately 12 days per month. The position involves working with adult and geriatric patient populations. Daily patient census ranges from 5-8. Special procedures may include ablations, pacemakers, thrombectomies, and EKG interpretations. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams including respiratory services and pharmacy. Experience with charting systems is preferred. Weekend coverage is required on an on-call basis. The unit consists of three rooms and eight beds. Candidates must be willing to work collaboratively within a team environment. Additional skills may include the use of specialized equipment related to cardiac care.
