Role: Manual Medical Device Tester

Location: Plymouth, MN

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Description:

· Designs, implements, debugs, and executes software tests according to corporate policies and business operating procedures on new and sustaining engineering projects.

· Review test results, defects and change requests to analyze the software impacts

· Works on specific tasks under direction of manager or senior test engineer.

· Participates in test reviews to better understand requirements and receive guidance on test approaches.

· Applies test design principles and technologies to verify software meets requirements and identify anomalies in software operation.

· Supports senior engineer in Investigation of new test technologies and tools.

· Performs module level and functional level testing of software applications.

· Documents defects, capturing steps to reproduce and information for debugging.

· Identify test automation areas on the projects.

· Validates software test tools according to corporate procedures.

· Collects data to generate metrics to assess test progress and software quality.

· Creates and maintains automated test scripts using appropriate scripting and tools to support project’s needs.

What you need to be successful:

· Requires 2+ years of progressive engineering experience in testing embedded software applications.

· Bachelor's in computer engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering. (A degree in another Engineering discipline may be acceptable with proven software education and/or training and demonstrated software experience.)

· Experience in testing embedded software applications.

· Team player with ability to work within project teams with guidance.

· Ability to solve engineering tasks through accurate interpretation of requirements and test results.

· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

· Experience using defect management and test management tools is preferred.

· Demonstrated knowledge of developing software solutions or test scripts using Python. (Nice to have)

· Competence in scripting languages such as Python and Perl. (Nice to have)

· Practical experience in C/C++ object-oriented analysis and programming, and multi-threaded/multi-tasking programming is desired. (Nice to have)
