Responsibilities

  • Develop and install machine programs using automation software and custom coding languages
  • Document the programs, flowcharts, and processes required to transition products from the engineering phase to production
  • Test products for efficiency, safety, and reliability
  • Troubleshoot system errors
  • Oversee the successful installation of PLC programs
  • Maintain and upgrade programs when necessary
  • Monitor and qualify new features and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain tools to optimize deployments and support
  • Provide engineering support to the manufacturing floor for testing and troubleshooting of new programs and systems
  • Troubleshoot products during tests when needed
  • Investigate and implement automation opportunities for production and testing areas


Educational/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a PLC programmer
