Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Specialty: ICU Nurse Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Night Shifts, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with Cerner EMR Job Description: - Work in a 20-bed ICU with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2. - Provide care for various conditions including neuro, radical cancer surgeries, DaVinci procedures, abdominal and urology cases, CVA, TPA administration, respiratory failure, sepsis, and oncology. - Manage telemetry systems (Phillips) and assist with ventilator troubleshooting; respiratory therapists manage vents. - Collaborate with the Charge Nurse or Nurse Shift Manager each shift. - Fulfill weekend requirements of four shifts every four weeks and work one major holiday and two minor holidays around Christmas. - Follow dress code of navy blue scrubs. - Participate in a minimum floor-specific orientation of two shifts, plus an additional shift for Cerner training. - Be prepared to be floated to tele or med-surg units at a sister facility, although mid-shift floating is rare. - Collaborate with a 24/7 in-unit pharmacy and on-call hospitalist or intensivist. - Adapt to the possible cancellation policy of up to three times per contract.
