Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of pulmonary conditions, such as asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, and sleep disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, oxygen therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation, and other interventions.
  • Perform minor procedures, such as nebulizer treatments and spirometry (if permitted by state regulations).
  • Provide patient education and counseling on disease management, lifestyle changes, and preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of the practice.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in the electronic medical record system.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing (NP) required, with current licensure in Florida.
  • Board certification in Pulmonology or eligibility for certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pulmonology or a related critical care setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills in the diagnosis and management of respiratory disorders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
