ANGARAI is looking for a Network Engineer who will participate in planning and coordinating the design installation and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure stable scalable redundant and secure network operations.

The position is in Annapolis Maryland and requires onsite presence.

Responsibilities:
  1. Designing developing analyzing troubleshooting and documenting computer networks and infrastructure.
  2. Performance monitoring troubleshooting and documentation of a statewide network utilizing industry best practices for security disaster recovery and business continuity change control and client support.
  3. Developing and analyzing network designs and protocols including prototyping and assessment.
  4. Performing planning engineering forecasting and implementation and identification of resource requirements for network systems.
  5. Leading and assisting in major network projects to support capacity growth upgrades and new products/features and integration.
  6. Evaluating current network systems and recommending changes in maintenance and systems standards and training support personnel on the conversion implementation and troubleshooting.
  7. Applying indepth uptodate knowledge of standards guidelines industry trends and similar for LAN WAN Wireless Data Center Cloud networking and interconnection.
  8. Driving improvements in network process efficiency and standardization.
  9. Ensuring security compliance change control processes and adherence to standards.
  10. Providing upper tier of diagnosis isolation and resolution of network problems.
    1. Identifying and documenting the root cause.
    2. Proactively identifying potential issues in the production environment and recommending potential solutions.
  11. Developing comprehensive graphical and textbased documentation and effectively managing the implementation process from design to acceptance.
  12. Hosting weekly status meetings/calls with team or on as needed basis.
  13. Leading scheduling and overseeing the activities with other team members to resolve enduser hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
  14. Assisting in the creation of robust network designs acting as the escalation point of contact and lead engineer for implementations and providing ongoing support and maintenance.
  15. Oversight of the configuration maintenance and documentation of routers switches wireless controllers load balancers security appliances WAN optimizer and management and security appliances.
  16. Reporting as follows:
    1. Weekly report communicating project progress and status.
    2. Weekly time reporting on JIS provided forms.
    3. Any additional reports as assigned by the supervising manager.


RequirementsEducation and Certification:
  • Bachelor s degree in an Information Technology (IT) related field.
  • Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise or (CCNP) Security Certification.
  • Following certificates issued within the last four (4) years:
    • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security Certification.
    • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) Certification.
    • Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) Certification from Palo Alto Networks.
Experience:
  • Layer 2 & 3 optimization and boundary virtual switching systems.
  • Scalable routing protocols (BGP EIGRP OSPF).
  • Enterprise Data Center and cloud Networking for Virtualization SDN Load Balancing storage.
  • Zero Trust Network Access and microsegmentation.
  • High Availability in Enterprise.
  • Advanced WAN service layers SDWANs and WAN Optimization applications.
  • Current Network Security Services applications services and appliances including but not limited to:
    • Identity Management.
    • Network Access Control.
    • Application Layer Inspection.
    • Content and Malware Filtering.
    • Data Loss and Intrusion Prevention.
    • Zeroday threats.
    • IPsec and SSL VPN.
    • PKI.
    • TwoFactor Authentication.
  • Enterprise VoIP and physical security environments access control and video surveillance network applications.
  • QualityofService design and implementation.
  • Network Management Protocols Applications and Operating System capabilities.
  • Installation and configuration of Cisco Catalyst Nexus and Palo Alto platforms.
  • Installation configuration securing and troubleshooting enterprise wireless access systems.
  • Ability to:
    • Work independently troubleshoot and provide mentoring to junior associates.
    • Communicate effectively when providing presentations.
    • Produce technical documents (diagrams design documents project plans and schedules and user instructions) as required.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Infrastructure Services and IPAM products.
    • IP multicast Enterprise Video conferencing streaming and on demand components.
    • Coding languages for scripting.
    • Major server desktop operating systems and utilities.

Education

Graduate in Arts or Computer Science.
