We are seeking talented and motivated Database Architects to join our dynamic team for hybrid roles requiring 3 days in-office, offering 2 days remotely a week. This role involves managing, optimizing, and ensuring the reliability of our diverse database environments, including DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Snowflake, HDInsights, and Databricks.


Responsibilities:

Database Management: Administer and maintain various database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Integration: Work with multiple database platforms (DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Snowflake, HDInsights, and Databricks) to ensure seamless integration and data flow across different systems.

Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement solutions for optimization.

Data Security: Ensure data integrity and security through the implementation of best practices and adherence to compliance requirements.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support data-related projects and initiatives.

Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate routine database tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of database configurations, procedures, and changes.


Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with databases tiered below
  • Proven experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Snowflake, HDInsights, and Databricks.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services.
  • Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: Relevant database administration or cloud certifications.

Tools: Experience with database monitoring and management tools.

Methodologies: Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.


Job Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Proficiency using a computer and common professional programs (ex: Office 365)
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times


Compensation & Benefits:

  • $55.00-65.00/hr
  • Medical, Dental, Vision Coverage, Supplemental Insurance through Aflac, & 401K plan.
