Stealth Communications is seeking a Senior Orbital (Space Domain Awareness) Analyst to support strategic decision-making with comprehensive analysis and assessments of current and future space system capabilities. This pivotal role involves validating and verifying critical Space Situational Awareness algorithms and data, as well as providing analytical support to transition from Space Situational Awareness to a more expansive Space Domain Awareness framework. The ideal candidate will deliver actionable insights that enhance our operational readiness and strategic initiatives in the space domain.


This position requires security clearance and is based onsite in Honolulu, HI.



Responsibilities

  • Design and execute validation and verification (V&V) processes for astrodynamics algorithms utilized at Space Command and Control (C2) centers, including the 18th Space Control Squadron (SPCS) and National Space Defense Center (NSDC).
  • Identify and mitigate deficiencies in algorithms, developing solutions for enhancements at both the C2 and sensor levels within the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) enterprise.
  • Assist in the validation of Space Surveillance Network (SSN) data, including non-traditional and commercial space surveillance sensors.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide astrodynamic software to ensure system interoperability across the SSA framework.
  • Create prototype algorithms to address operational challenges in SSA/Space Domain Awareness (SDA).
  • Conduct Design of Experiments to evaluate potential improvements in Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and explore alternative methods at C2 or sensor sites.
  • Provide analytical assessments and analysis for space C2 and sensor systems within the SSA mission area.
  • Perform numerical validation of SSA C2 system algorithms and sensor data to support Operational Acceptance (OA) decisions.
  • Serve as the technical lead for the integration and OA of traditional and non-traditional sensors and data sources.
  • Support the development of operational concepts and TTPs.
  • Offer subject matter expertise to resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Research and develop innovative algorithms and methods to enhance SSA performance.
  • Provide analytical support for the development of requirements, Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Architecture of Options (AoOs), and Mission Utility Analyses (MUAs).
  • Capable of independent work and collaboration within a diverse and multidisciplinary team, including scientists, engineers, business professionals, and ex-military personnel.


Qualifications

  • Required: An active, transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to commencement.
  • Ph.D. in Operations Research or a related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in space operations or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with programming languages: Python, MATLAB, C++, and Assembly.
  • Proven track record with astrodynamics software and the design and execution of validation and verification (V&V) processes for astrodynamics algorithms.
  • Extensive experience in orbital analysis.
  • Demonstrated strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to integrate and analyze data effectively.
  • Experience in developing and implementing analytical methodologies and solutions in a space domain context.
  • Effectively communicate technical and non-technical information verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.
