Job Description:

As a StandUp Forklift Operator at a frozen food company your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently operate a standup forklift to move and transport frozen food products within the facility. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth flow of operations and ensuring the timely delivery and storage of frozen goods.
Responsibilities:

  1. Operating StandUp Forklift: Safely and proficiently operate a standup forklift to load unload and transport pallets of frozen food products in a fastpaced environment.
  2. Material Handling: Move pallets of frozen goods from production areas to storage locations freezers or loading docks ensuring proper stacking and secure placement to prevent damage or accidents.
  3. Inventory Management: Assist in inventory control by accurately scanning recording and verifying incoming and outgoing products using computerized systems and handheld scanners.
  4. Retrieve and stage products for outbound shipments following the firstin firstout (FIFO) method to maintain product freshness.
  5. Palletize and stack frozen food products according to established guidelines and specifications ensuring stability and integrity during transportation and storage.
  6. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and comply with company policies and procedures.
  7. Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge in forklift operations and material handling.
  8. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the forklift such as monitoring fluid levels tire pressure and reporting any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
  9. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established guidelines for stacking loading and unloading frozen food products.
  10. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory movements equipment inspections and any incidents or accidents that occur during forklift operations. Report any irregularities or concerns to the supervisor.
  11. Collaboration: Collaborate with warehouse team members including supervisors loaders and inventory personnel to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  12. Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the work area clean organized and free from debris ensuring the forklift and surrounding area are in compliance with sanitation and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift operator certification or license.
  • Previous experience operating a standup forklift preferably in a warehouse or frozen food environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to forklift operations.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads bend stoop and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management and documentation.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work in different temperaturecontrolled environments including freezers.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
