Job Description: Winemaker

Location: Windsor, CA

Summary:

Seeking a Winemaker responsible for helping to oversee all aspects of the wine production process. This includes strategic direction as well as day-to-day operations. Your will work alongside the team.

What you will be doing:

• Assist with receiving and processing product

• General sanitation of winery and equipment following company standard operating procedures

(SOPs)

• Fill, top, stir and maintain wine in barrels

• Assist on bottling and canning lines when needed

• Learn to spot spoiling wine and be able to identify conditions that lead to spoilage

• Gather samples for analysis, including fruit, active fermentations, bulk wine in storage and

packaging runs

• Conduct routine lab analysis on products using various techniques and equipment including

enzymatic discrete analysis

• Help ensure all bulk storage tanks are properly labeled and secured daily

• Aid in inventory management, including conducting physical inventory measurement when

needed.

• Help maintain a high level of quality control during every process

• Aid in management of supplies inventory and other materials and equipment used in the

production of wine

• Help maintain records as required for the purpose of meeting government and corporate

requirements

• Collaborate with the winemaking team to plan blends and products to be produced to meet the

projections of the sales group

• Assist with shipping and receiving raw materials and finished products

• Lead public and private tours and assist with larger winery functions

• Continually look to innovate winemaking and production and adapt to changing market

conditions

What You Bring:

• BS in Fermentation Science or related science field

• 5+ years in fine wine production leadership.

• Intermediate or better excel skills.

• Strong accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

• Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
