Summary

The Upholster position is responsible for skillfully fabric materials to cover and enhance furniture and cushions. This role involves a careful and precise approach to ensure the quality and aesthetic appeal of the upholstered pieces meet the required standards.

During the fabric application process, the Upholster mut be able to utilize a variety of hand tools, including but not limited to cutting, molding, gluing, and stretching techniques on furniture materials.

• Utilize fabric material to expertly cover furniture and cushions
• Safely utilize hand tools for molding, cutting, gluing, and stretching furniture materials
• Ensure strict adherence to high safety standards throughout the upholstery process
• Play a crucial role in maintaining both the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of upholstered furniture
• Display a careful and detailed approach, highlighting precision and attention to detail in each project
• Foster a collaborative and teamwork-oriented environment, promoting quality craftsmanship

Key Qualifications

• 2-3 years of upholstery experience
• Have an intermediate understanding of the subject matter
• Performs work under direct supervision
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills preferred
• Create an environment of high standards and quality work
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to act with integrity, empathy, and professionalism
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and populations

Physical Requirements

• The Warehouse is not temperature regulated and can be noisy and busy.
• Walk approximately 15k – 20k steps per day
• Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities

Pay & Benefits

• Pay range: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour based on experience
