This position is based in Ogden, Utah.
Position Summary
Key responsibilities include designing and locating supports for various piping systems and performing necessary calculations using GT Strudl software. The candidate should be familiar with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3. The role involves close collaboration with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to ensure the delivery of quality and cost-effective designs. Coordination with other engineering disciplines and vendors is also required.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Designing and locating pipe support systems, originating related calculations using GTStrudl in accordance with DoD UFC standards, AISC & ASME B31.3.
- Applying typical pipe supports and/or reviewing/approving layouts/isometrics as needed.
- The candidate should have a knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and piping codes.
- Utilization of GTStrudl for engineering pipe support frame analysis.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications
- US citizenship is required as per contract requirement.
- This role requires a facility-specific clearance that mandates U.S. Citizenship.
- Possession of active security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Capability to review/approve piping layouts & support requirements as per DoD standards/ASME B31.3.
- Hands-on experience with a stress analysis program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with DoD projects.
- Practical experience with a structural frame analysis program.
- PE Registration.
