Position Purpose: Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain.  As a Router, you will play a vital role in the creation of cost-effective routes to meet customer demands.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Creates efficient, cost-effective routes to meet customer demands using 
  • Maintains proper balance between route distance and load size to accommodate drivers’ capabilities and distribution center productivity standard
  • Matches available vehicles with load and distance requirements
  • Allocates equipment and driver resources for scheduled and unscheduled deliveries a/o pick-ups and backhauls.
  • Participates in holiday routing arrangements and driver schedules
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state (provincial), and local regulations relative to driver distances and load capacities.
  • Communicates load requisites, routes, and schedules with warehouse production staff to facilitate the order selection process.
  • Assist Trans Manager with equipment maintenance and Backhaul planning.
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities: Conducted on an “as needed basis”
  • Comply with H&S policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6+ months in a warehouse environment
  • Administrative support performing math and computer data entry skills
  • Pass a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent 
  • 1+ years in a warehouse environment and interfacing with customers within the food service industry
