Urgent Care Certified Medical Assistant Per Diem

Medical AssistantProvides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.Responsibilities include:Obtaining patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and preparing the patient for a physical examExplaining prescribed procedures and treatments to patientsEnsuring all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely mannerAdministering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedureDrawing blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processingPerforming laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructionsResponding to all lab messages and call back requestsPerforming all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulationsEnsuring patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedureConducting physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basisPreparing exam rooms; sterilizing instruments, equipment, and supplies for proceduresMaintaining complete and accurate documentationOther duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications include:Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
