Come join the team that makes this happen.FTE: 0.9Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 72Work Shift: Day: 12 hoursJob DescriptionThe assistant manager directs and supervises daily operations, resources, employees, and performance improvement on a 24-hour basis in collaboration with the clinical nurse manager. The assistant manager will develop management skills pursuant to growth to higher level management position. The assistant manager assists in development and attainment of the unit's goals.Responsibilities Include:Ensures staff provide high quality, accessible, cost effective care, and patient focused services while complying with local, state, and federal requirementsAssists with the monitoring of financial performance and identifies/implements strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service while reviewing budgets for the appropriate use of human and material resourcesProvides clinical supervision to patient care staffDetermines the appropriate staff mix for the department and screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staffAssists with and resolves human resource, employee and department safety, and risk management issuesEnsures on going staff developmentFacilitates the advancement of nursing practice and assumes twenty-four hour responsibilityMonitors and develops standards of care and standards of practice, fiscal management, and quality improvement activitiesEnsures staff provides the highest quality of care and is in compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local requirementsServes as role model and mentors staffOther duties as requiredQualificationsBachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Master's degree in Nursing or in a health-related field is preferredThree (3) years clinical experience in specialty area.Epic user experience preferredPrevious management experience preferredDemonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills and teamworkAbility to organize, prioritize and delegate appropriately.License/Certification/Registration RequirementsCurrent CA Registered Nurse - California Board of Registered NursingCurrent Basic Lifesaving (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association per unit standards.Current Advanced Cardiac Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association per unit standards.Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics per unit standards.Specialty certification preferredSalary Range: $86.18 - $129.27 USD HourlyThe Physical Requirements and Working Conditions of this job are available.
