Hijazi, Zaslow & Carroll, P.A. in Bowie, MD, seeks to hire a Senior Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience. We primarily represent real estate investors, landlords, and construction contractors in a range of real estate and construction litigation, landlord/tenant matters, land use/zoning matters, real estate closings, and other civil litigation such as employment and injury matters. An ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of civil litigation experience, solid research and writing skills, and confident negotiation abilities. Experience in the real estate and construction industries is a plus. Judicial clerkships are also a plus. Licensure in the State of Maryland is required. Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role (located in Bowie, MD, with flexibility for some remote work) for a Senior Litigation Attorney. The Senior Litigation Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in a variety of litigation matters, including real estate, construction, employment, and injury litigation. They will draft and argue motions, take and defend depositions, and manage discovery, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as a litigator, with experience taking and defending depositions, and drafting and arguing motions
• Detailed-oriented, analytical, and efficient with strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal issues into easily understandable concepts for clients and colleagues
• Enthusiastic about working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, with a demonstrated track record of assuming increasing levels of responsibility
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Maryland (District of Columbia and Virginia preferred as well)
