As the Director of Cybersecurity at Capital One, you will spearhead comprehensive cybersecurity measures for our strategic business initiatives. Your role involves collaborating with technology, risk, and business teams to proactively manage and mitigate cyber risks in a fast-paced financial services environment. We are seeking a passionate leader in cybersecurity who perceives security as a catalyst for business innovation rather than just a compliance checkbox. You will oversee incident and vulnerability management, deliver cyber strategies, and provide insightful advice to executive leadership regarding the organization's security posture. Responsibilities: Lead the delivery of end-to-end security solutions for key projects, including mergers and acquisitions. Drive the integration and execution of divisional cyber strategies, focusing on risk management for critical business initiatives and technology platforms. Manage threat and vulnerability assessments, incident management, and supply chain cyber risk. Act as a primary liaison between your line of business and Capital One's Cyber risk management priorities. Educate and influence executive leadership on leveraging security capabilities to mitigate risks. Deliver regular updates on the overall information security health and risk landscape to executive leadership. Build and maintain strong relationships with risk management functions across all levels of the organization. Stay informed about the evolving regulatory landscape and its implications for the business. About You: Demonstrated leadership skills with a collaborative mindset, capable of effectively interacting with a diverse range of individuals including business executives and technology leaders. Expertise in securing large-scale e-commerce platforms and ensuring customer data protection in high-transaction environments. A forward-thinking individual who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative team setting. Proficient with contemporary technologies including Generative AI, Cloud Services, DevOps, and Zero Trust architecture. Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate technical risks in business terms effectively. A deep-seated passion for cybersecurity and a commitment to fostering a culture of security while supporting business objectives. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 7+ years of experience in Information Security 5+ years of experience in leadership roles 5+ years of experience in cyber policies and standards 5+ years of experience securing public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering 10+ years of technology and cybersecurity risk experience Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or CISM Experience in e-commerce and regulated environments is a plus Please note that at this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization or provide immigration-related support. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are: Chicago, IL: $239,900 - $273,800 McLean, VA: $263,900 - $301,200 Plano, TX: $239,900 - $273,800 Richmond, VA: $239,900 - $273,800 *Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range for that location. The actual salary offered will be included in the candidate's offer letter.
