Freight HandlerGordon Food Service is excited to offer a 3rd shift full-time freight handler position at our distribution center located at 4980 Gateway Blvd., Springfield, Ohio 45502. Pay starts at $18.06/hr plus a $1 shift premium, with performance incentives, bonuses, etc. Work schedule is Sunday-Thursday, starting at 10 pm to 6 am, with shifts ending times varying based on work volume. Total rewards include affordable benefits plans starting day one, weekly pay, wellness reimbursement, profit sharing, and 401(k) with company match. Emergency child and elder care is also available. Ninety-five percent of leadership is hired from within GFS.As a freight handler, you'll support our team by safely removing pallets of product from the trailer and breaking down the product for the correct pallet configuration. You will also separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, ensure that damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into the warehouse for sale inventory, and account for the structural integrity of pallets. No experience is required - we'll train you how to get the job doneTo be considered for this role, you must be 18 years of age or older, able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed, and able to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (-25F to 100F). You must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. You must successfully pass a drug test and background check.
