The Director of Admissions is responsible for helping develop the accelerated, hybrid Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program at Edgewood College. The Director of Admissions holds a faculty appointment and has administrative, academic/teaching, service, and scholarship, and clinical responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. This individual is responsible for all student recruitment, application, and admissions processes for the program. The Director of Admissions oversees and recommends updates to recruitment materials and admissions policies and procedures. Serving as Chair of Admissions Committee, the Director of Admissions is responsible for all matters concerning student admission to the OTD Program, including recruitment, application, selection, and matriculation. The Admissions Committee is responsible for overseeing faculty involvement in a transparent admissions process that guarantees nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for all applicants.


The incumbent must reside or be willing to relocate to one of the following states upon hire: Wisconsin, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah or Virginia.


Responsibilities:

  • all day-to-day operations regarding student recruitment and admissions processes.
  • as program liaison with the Edgewood College Graduate Admissions department.
  • as program liaison with the Occupational Therapy Centralized Application Service (OTCAS) and other outside agencies involved in the admissions process.
  • as the primary faculty contact for all student inquiries requiring more specific program information.
  • and oversees program recruitment efforts, to include monthly informational webinars.
  • nondiscrimination and equal opportunity during the admissions process for all prospective students.
  • all faculty regarding the admissions process, including specific emphasis on their role in applicant screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • staff support personnel who assist with assembling and disseminating admissions information, receiving applications, entering data, and preparing files for interviews.
  • reviews the admissions process and criteria and makes recommendations to the faculty regarding changes.
  • an update of the program website, handbooks, and informational brochures relative to student recruitment and admissions to ensure current and relevant information is provided to all prospective students.
  • the Director of Student Affairs with student assimilation into the OTD program immediately following enrollment offer acceptance and prior to orientation.
  • plans, and conducts activities of the Admissions Committee.
  • conjunction with program director, provides committee oversight to the Admissions Policies and Procedures component of the Program Assessment Plan and ACOTE Self Study Report.
  • all program policies, procedures and practices under the responsibility of the Director of Admissions provide for compliance with accreditation policies and procedures.


Job Qualifications

Necessary Education or Work Experience:

  • terminal academic doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching or Doctor of Occupational therapy degree with specialization in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities.
  • therapist with an active, unrestricted license, eligible for licensure in Wisconsin.
  • in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
  • with teaching, advising, and mentoring students in a hybrid learning environment.
  • in immersive labs on campus one-two times per semester.
  • consistent with the assignment of faculty rank.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in occupational therapy clinical education.
  • of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting didactic and clinical education, students, and the profession of occupational therapy.
