Position Summary: Joining this role means becoming a part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1245 represented classification, benefitting from over a century of experience representing PG&E employees. This job involves being a journey-level professional mechanic with expertise in various skills, including but not limited to equipment service and repair of Mobile Hydraulics, Aerial Hydraulics, Air Brakes, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely following PG&E's safety standards
  • Inspect and document components on vehicles/equipment
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and repair problems on vehicles/equipment
  • Use hand and power tools for equipment repairs
  • Perform oil changes and automotive services
  • Drive to service vehicles at remote facilities
  • Responsible for fueling, safety inspections, and more
  • Maintain clean job area and professional relationships
  • Manage multiple maintenance tasks effectively
  • Communicate with team members and Managers

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • At least 18 years old
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class A California Driver's License Permit and valid DMV Medical Card
  • 4+ years of experience as a certified Journey-level Mechanic
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, lift heavy objects, and more

Desired:

  • Own tools and tool box
  • Experience with air brakes, hydraulics, and more
  • Knowledge of welding and fabricating
  • Experience reading schematics and blueprints

Pre-Employment Testing: PG&E mandates the completion of various tests before application submission and interviewing.
