Ultimate Staffing is hiring a Buyer for a gourmet food company with a great company culture The position is located in Hayward, CA and the salary range is $31 to $40.50/hr depending on experience.

Position Summary:

Assist Director of Purchasing with sourcing and the procurement of items for production, office supplies, MRO and any other general needs of the company. Issue purchase orders for materials in accordance with company standards and production needs. Perform purchase & usage analysis and maintain supporting documents

Essential Functions:

The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The Buyer will perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by Management. Job duties may change as required by needs of company.

· Use ERP system to extract data and to analyze results for decision making

· Make routine cyclic inventory counts and bring any discrepancies to the attention of purchasing manager

· Support the launch of the Approved Vendor Program

· Evaluate and rate high risk vendors &/or ingredients and find alternate sources to mitigate against risk

· Place routine purchase orders as directed by management and/or the purchasing manager

· Verify the accuracy of the prices on the purchase orders placed

· Print all purchase orders for the next working day

· Make follow-up calls to confirm deliveries schedules

· Reconcile all purchase orders, receiving documents and invoices and verify the quantities SAP

· Scan all purchase documents into SAP

· Make recommendations for purchasing related processes and process improvements

· Timely follow up on incomplete documentation, missing shipping and receiving documents and price variances

· Perform required analysis to make data supported buy recommendations

· Maintain all paper work pertaining to purchase functions of supply chain

· Communicate & Coordinate with and provide information to scheduler

· Management of obsolete and short coded purchased materials

· Projects and tasks as assigned by the purchasing manager to support day to day activities of the purchasing department

Required Skills, Knowledge or abilities:

· Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and ensure completion of multiple tasks

· Good problem solver

· Ability to work well with others and independently

· Demonstrate resourcefulness and ability to take initiative

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Good working knowledge with Word processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail, Order processing, Inventory control systems, Manufacturing software-SAP

· Accuracy in tasks, i.e. pricing and verification of quantities etc.

· Prompt follow-through on calls and e-mails from vendors, suppliers and operations team

· Attention to detail while placing purchase orders, verifying documents and other similar tasks

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma with 1-2 years of college preferred.

· Knowledge of SAP and able to execute purchasing related transaction within SAP

· Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite
