Job Summary Graduate Student Instructors (GSIs) for ENGR 100 are typically assigned to teach 3 lab sections and hold weekly office hours. You are also assigned other administrative duties such as grading assignments or reviewing and suggesting updates to course materials as needed. This is a part-time appointment (50% effort). Course Description Engineering 100 is an engineering student's first taste of what it is to be a practicing engineer This project-based course simulates a real-world engineering environment. Each section asks students to complete an engineering project where they design a solution to an authentic, real-life problem. Students can choose from a range of different sections, each with its own project focus - from radiation mitigation to robotics to rocket science, and more For more information about ENGR 100, please visit: Responsibilities* Teach courses, or coordinate, lead, or assist in the instructional process in direct interaction with students in recitation, laboratory, quiz, or problem sessions, or teach during regularly scheduled office hours. Assist instructor in preparing course materials and grading. Required Qualifications* To be considered for this position, you must be a University of Michigan graduate student in good standing, taking at least 6 credit hours in the term you are applying for. Both incoming and current graduate students are eligible. Desired Qualifications* Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required for this position.
