Job Title: Technical Writer with Business Analyst Skills


Job Description:

Overview: We are seeking a talented Technical Writer with strong Business Analyst skills to join our team. This dual role requires expertise in creating comprehensive technical documentation as well as analyzing business processes to translate requirements into clear and actionable insights. The ideal candidate will excel in both writing and analytical tasks, ensuring that technical content is both accurate and easily understood.

Key Responsibilities:


Technical Writing:

  • Develop, edit, and maintain a variety of documentation including user manuals, technical guides, process documentation, and online help.
  • Establish and adhere to documentation standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and verify technical information.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy across all technical documents.


Business Analysis:

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their needs, gather requirements, and analyze business processes.
  • Create detailed business and functional requirements documents, user stories, and use cases.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Recommend process improvements based on analysis and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of business solutions to meet organizational goals.


Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure clear and effective communication.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather requirements, discuss solutions, and provide updates on project progress.
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical audiences in an accessible manner.
  • Work closely with project managers, developers, QA teams, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment and clarity.


Quality Assurance:

  • Review and edit documentation created by others to ensure clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Conduct user testing and gather feedback to continually improve documentation quality.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and reflects current system functionality and processes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, English, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer and/or Business Analyst.
  • Strong technical writing skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using documentation and analysis tools (e.g., MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, MadCap Flare, Visio, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
