Small Business Banking Underwriter-HybridThe Small Business Banking Underwriter will analyze and make credit decisions for small business banking clients in accordance with UMB policies and Federal regulations. They will complete cash flow, capital and collateral analysis for credit requests and properly structured approved loans.Duties & Responsibilities:Analyze financial statementsUtilize bank systems for loan processing and completion of loan proposalComplete underwriting and communicate credit decisions within SLA benchmarksWork closely with bank associates to facilitate loan closingsManage pipeline of credits and prioritize incoming credit requests and tasksMaintain working knowledge and stay current on lending and other bank policiesQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in (or emphasis in) business, marketing or finance preferred2+ years of experience in commercial lending or related bankingProficiency on MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)Good interpersonal & relationship building skillsStrong understanding & knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, & marketing practicesKnowledge of SBSS Scoring Model preferredAbility to analyze and review loan applications to provide profitable results in the underwriting of small business loans and related credit productsApplication Deadline: December 31, 2025Compensation Range: $51,480.00 - $99,330.00The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB's standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
