LaSalle Network has partnered with one of the nation's largest Nephrology practice that's based in Oak Brook, IL who's in need of a well-rounded, Network Administrator that has experience supporting a blend between virtual and on-prem tools/technologies found in traditional infrastructure environments, to join their team. This role is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity, and the expectation is for this person to be able to work on-site in Oak Brook, IL every day. Important note: we can not support c2c employment for this search.

The Network Administrator will be working in a Cisco (Meraki) based Network Environment and will be supporting a blend of on-prem and virtualized tools. It is important to note that we are looking for someone that's not only well-versed in networking, but also an analytical mind-set, considering that there's limited external support and our client would depend on this individual to "think on their feet". 60% of the Network Administrator's day-to-day would revolve around investigating network and infrastructure alerts/logged events and reported network issues. They need this person to be able to investigate, troubleshoot and identify the bottlenecks preventing fluent data transmission. There will be guidance and support but no handholding/micro-managing in this role.

Network Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Look at alerts and monitoring systems to ensure that the networks and infrastructure are operating efficiently, resolve/troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Their network consists primarily of Cisco-based (Meraki) network devices and infrastructure is almost entirely virtualized with VMWare
  • The Network Administrator would also be involved in troubleshooting Domain Controllers and Active Directory, on occasion


Network Administrator Requirements:

  • 3+ years of well-rounded configuration experience with Cisco-based Routers, Switches, Access Points and VPNs
  • Experience troubleshooting WireShark Ports and knowing the associated protocols involved
  • Rack and Stack experience
  • Relevant/active certifications (CCNA, A+, Network+, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
