About Us: Torque is working on behalf of a leading construction firm with a strong reputation for excellence in delivering high-quality projects. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our team, focusing on Public Work projects on Long Island.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the scope of work and project deliverables.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and costs effectively.
  • Oversee and enforce the Master Project Schedule, ensuring all updates and revisions are communicated and implemented.
  • Manage the submittal process, field operations, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Visit construction sites to assess conditions and identify any scope not included in the design documents.
  • Oversee design scope changes and manage cost adjustments and schedule impacts.
  • Enforce strict safety protocols and manage the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Lead and mentor both field and office staff, fostering a culture of accountability and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction cost management, scheduling, estimating, and purchasing.
  • Strong understanding of Public Work projects on Long Island.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and project schedules.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs, ladders, and negotiating work areas under construction.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The job may require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Regular exposure to construction sites with moving mechanical parts, high places, airborne particles, and outside weather conditions.
  • Noise levels may vary from moderate to very loud.
