Wilmington Health is committed to using collaborative, evidence-based medicine in providing the highest quality of care to the patients we serve. Purpose: Administers nursing care for and treats patients in endoscopy unit as directed by Physician, Advanced Clinical Provider, supervising Clinical Coordinator or Clinical Director by performing the following duties Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Maintains patient confidentiality Participates as a team member in support of the total perioperative process Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow- up/intervention Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely Uses computer system efficiently and accurately Provides patient/staff education Addresses patient needs during admission to the endoscopy suite, with attention to the requirements specific to the outpatient setting Identifies the patient and correct procedure according to policy and procedure and communicates with all members of the surgical team Supervises and directs patient care in an endoscopy room Addresses patient needs during admission to the endoscopy room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting Transports patients to the endoscopy room observing policy and procedure, safety requirements and patient needs Other Duties: Performs other duties and projects as assigned QUALIFICATIONSRequired: North Carolina or Compact RN license Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing BLS/CPR Certification ACLS Certification Preferred: Endoscopy experience Ambulatory surgery center experience IV Conscious Sedation training ADA Physical Demands: Rarely (Less than .5 hrs/day) Occasionally (0.6 - 2.5 hrs/day) Frequently (2.6 - 5.5 hrs/day) Continuously (5.6 - 8.0 hrs/day) Physical DemandRequired?Frequency Standing Continuously Sitting Frequently Walking Continuously Kneeling/Crouching Rarely Lifting Rarely Endoscopy RN CompetenciesGeneral Customer Service Professionalism/Integrity/Responsibility Teamwork/Process Focus Dependability/Punctuality Interpersonal Relationships/Communication Judgment/Decision Making/Problem Solving Quality/Quantity Initiative Safety/Housekeeping Organizational Skills/Time Management Med/IV Computer Knowledge/Skills Procedures Triage - Phone and Face to Face Specimen Collection Assessment Skills Documentation Equipment Maintenance
