The Junior Cabling Specialist (Install & Repair), is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of an enterprise's structured cabling infrastructure, including data and voice networks. This role involves following detailed instructions to run, terminate, and test cables, as well as supporting senior technicians with hardware setup and site surveys. The primary goal is to ensure the physical network infrastructure is reliable and meets company standards. Duties: Install, terminate, and test network cables, such as Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic, according to technical specifications and company standards. Assist senior technicians with running and pulling cables through walls, ceilings, and other pathways, and mounting telecom equipment. Perform site surveys to help determine optimal cable routing and installation plans. Use testing equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot cable issues, ensuring proper connectivity and signal integrity. Maintain a clean and organized work area, and properly manage tools, materials, and inventory. Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and building codes during all installations and repairs. Collaborate with other team members to coordinate schedules and ensure projects are completed on time. Document work performed, including installation details, test results, and any issues encountered. Learn and apply new skills and techniques from senior technicians and training to improve efficiency and knowledge.
